In this session, WDE will describe the identification process of English Learners (ELs) and give updates on the EL assessments, ACCESS for students in Grades K-12 and ALT ACCESS for students with significant cognitive disabilities. The term English proficient will be defined and the methodology for determining English Language proficiency (ELP) will be reviewed.
